The last day of 2011!

This is a short little recap of my 2011 year including some things I actually accomplished checking off my bucket list!

I started off 2011 on Bourbon street in New Orleans with my wonderful Fiancé.

Then the very first week of 2011 was spent with the Laccetti family. We met up with them at Disney World!

January 2011 I FINALLY saw Chelsea Handler (aka who I think I am when I am drunk) live while she was in Honolulu on tour.

Also, I saw Minus the Bear and Incubus live, AND got to meet both bands after the show thanks to my wonderful best friend and her boobies!

One of my good friends actually came out to Hawaii to see me!

I even got to go home to visit my family and actually not miss one of my niece's birthday!

I also went on some pretty baller hikes around Oahu...

Ka'ena point

Ka'ena Point

Ka'ena Point

Stairway to Heaven (Didn't get up there, just my husband did...I got to the gate 3 times though!)

Waimano Falls

Manoa Falls

Waimano Loop

I had the most wonderful 22nd birthday ever! Husband got me a set of pink golf clubs AND a kindle (I am spooled), I had my first ever massage, and we went to a luau.

We finally took our engagement photos...

And then bottled our wine for our wedding!

We finally tied the knot! Then went on a fabulous honeymoon on a cruise to Mexico!

Keep in mind, these are only some things I did this year that I got to check off my bucket list! I still have a long way to go, but this was a GREAT year. Hopefully 2012 will be a good year even though the Navy is taking my husband away for most of it (pity party for me!). Watch out 2012! Here I come full speed ahead!

A Late Christmas gift isn't always a bad one!

My wonderful husband surprised me with my Christmas gift yesterday with an iPhone 4. I hope it doesn't take over my life, I hear stories you know!

A Laccetti Christmas

I know that a lot of people's blogs today (and yesterday) are going to talk about how wonderful their Christmas was, so why not do the same?

Husband had to work on Christmas Eve and got home around 9 a.m. on Christmas morning. Santa brought us beer!

Thought that was funny because it was the first thing I saw when I woke up. Anyways, Christmas eve I made the desserts.

I made melted snowman cookies that I found on pinterest (Recipe Here ), and I started to make gingerbread men until I realized how hard it is to cut the little men out of the cookie dough. After about eight men I gave up and just made gingersnaps. I cheated with the pumpkin pie, that was store bought.

Christmas Eve I also made all the appetizers, veggies and dip, feta cheese stuffed cucumbers (Recipe here ), and some caprese salad party style.

My husband made his famous artichoke pie. The rest of the food we made was honey ham, green bean casserole and some sweet potatoes. We didn't take pictures because we were so hungry we ate right away!
Here are some cute pet photos to make your heart melt...

Santa Paws came during the night!

And of course, Christmas isn't Christmas without Christmas pajama's and a ducky cup filled with coffee!

Merry Holiday's!

Merry Christmas! I know my decorations aren't much, but give a girl a break! This is mine and my husband's first Christmas together in the four years that we have been together! The first year he went home for the holidays, the second he was on deployment, and last year he had to stand duty. So yay for first Christmas! He has to work today, but I would say it's worth it.

So I was browsing through some blogs in a group I am in (married young) and I found this very cute, crafty southern bell ( http://recentlyroached.blogspot.com ) who had this great idea for a christmas ornament for newly weds ( Ornament Idea ) . I thought it was a great idea and decided to copy her! So here is my version of her idea (come on folks, I am still learning how to be crafty!)

You need a clear bulb. San's glitter would be ideal but if you live in Hawaii and you are trying to find one a few days before Christmas..ahh good luck. This is the best one (or should I say only) one I found in Walmart and Kmart.

I have a lot of left over invitations. This is what I am putting inside my bulb.

Basically, I cut the invitation up into little strips and took the top off the bulb. Bet you don't know what comes next...

Stuff them inside.

I added some Christmas spirited ribbon and voila! Looks pretty good for a non, crafter eh?

Here are a few more additions to our Christmas tree this year (Thank you Laccetti Family!!)

Merry Christmas everyone!
Feel free to leave links to some of your Christmas ornaments in the comment section below!

#132 Learn how to cook

Ok this is a straight up Brittany Laccetti creation. It wasn't as bad as I anticipated! Please don't mind the cheesy plating- I am practically 5 years old when it comes to cooking so it's only appropriate.

So the generous heart shape is some garlic and butter mashed potatoes. Of course easy to make.

Above it is some baked salmon marinated in olive oil, capers and green olives served over a bed of spinach. It was a bold choice, but I was happy with the results.

What do you think? Look good or gross?

Things you wish you would have done....

I am taking the time to write to my followers. I know that I have been lacking in the post area but it is because my life has been ruled by work...again. Give me a millisecond to explain. I work in a catering department, so December is crazy with Holiday parties and other festivities.

Over the last few years I have relocated my entire life to be with my (now) husband. I took a leap of faith with a rocky relationship and moved across the United States to make it work. When I moved to Hawaii I packed a few pieces of luggage and two boxes from my life in New York. My friends thought I was crazy, and my family (even though they wished the best) were taking bets on how long it would be before I packed up and came back. Needless to say, I am still here in Hawaii and happily married to my best friend. I took a leap of faith to be where I am today. I will always remember packing all my important things and my best friend saying to me "Aren't you scared? Aren't you afraid that it's not going to work out?" My response was...well yes, of course I am scared things aren't going to work out. I will not force myself into a relationship if I know it's not going to work. I had many discussions with many people about taking "the leap of faith," and how I would be more regretful if I never took the chance and missed out on true love.

And let me tell you, I am so happy, and so grateful (to myself) that a took a chance in love and it worked. How lucky was I? I created this blog when I realized that I never took chances before. I was always afraid of rules and regulations and society and yadda ya that I never took the chance to risk everything. That was, until the day I packed everything and left my old life behind. I created this blog to encourage not only myself but my readers to go out there and risk everything to enjoy something, to create something in your life to be grateful for.

So I am very sorry for the lack of posts. Please understand that it's nothing personal, I just haven't had any leisure time to go out and do something exciting! I promise, soon!!!

What is one decision that you have made in your life that you will never regret?

Revis the Elf

My house is finally in the Christmas spirit, along with our puppy Revis. I just couldn't resist the elf hat at Petco!
